Led by Dr. Koteshwara Nadipalli, MD, a Board-Certified Family Medicine Physician with more than 25 years of clinical and leadership experience, our team provides comprehensive, personalized primary care with a concierge-style approach – with locations in The Colony and Frisco, serving patients throughout Plano and surrounding North Texas communities.

The Basics

What Exactly is An Annual Physical Exam?

An annual physical is much more than checking your blood pressure and listening to your heart. Think of it as your yearly health assessment and preventive roadmap.

It is dedicated time for your provider to review your medical history, family history, medications, lifestyle, vital signs, physical health, preventive screening needs and risk factors for future disease.

Many conditions begin quietly, without obvious symptoms. High blood pressure, elevated cholesterol, prediabetes and diabetes are common examples. That is why preventive care matters – you shouldn’t have to wait until disease announces itself before paying attention to your health.

What happens during your visit

Four parts, Personalized to you.

Every patient is different. Your examination and recommendations are personalized according to your age, sex, medical history, family history, medications, lifestyle and individual risk factors. A comprehensive annual physical may include the following.

Know your numbers

Required physicals for Kindergarten and new student enrollment across DFW school districts.

A comprehensive medical and family history

Your family history can provide important clues about your own health risks. We review your personal and family history for conditions

A thorough physical examination

We don’t believe an annual physical should feel rushed. Your provider performs a comprehensive examination

Laboratory and diagnostic evaluation

Laboratory testing may be recommended based on your age, history, symptoms, medications, risk factors and clinical findings.
Women's preventive health

Care through every stage of life.

Depending on age, medical history and individual risk, our providers can discuss and coordinate:
  • Women’s wellness examinations
  • Cervical cancer screening
  • Pap testing when indicated
  • Mammogram orders
  • Breast health
  • Menstrual concerns
  • Contraception counseling
  • Family planning

We want women feel comfortable discussing their concerns openly and actively participating in decisions about their health.

Vaccinations

Prevention includes staying current.

Your annual physical is also an excellent opportunity to review whether your immunizations are up to date.

Vaccination needs change with age, medical conditions, occupation, travel history and other risk factors.

Rather than waiting until a vaccine is overdue, we can review your history and recommend appropriate immunizations based on current guidelines and your individual circumstances.

Bring your vaccination record if you have one It saves time and helps us avoid repeating doses you’ve already received.

An important distinction

An acute visit and an annual physical are not the same thing.

Acute / Sick Visit
What is wrong today?
When you visit a doctor because you have a cough, fever, back pain, infection or another immediate problem, the primary goal is to diagnose and treat that particular concern.
How healthy are you overall, what risks should we be watching, and what can we do to protect your future?

Preventive medicine gives your provider the opportunity to look beyond today’s symptoms and concentrate on your overall health trajectory.

Both are important. But only one of them is looking ahead.
